The owner, Steven DiMeo, first built timber-frame homes on Cape Cod in 1979. He then went on to disassemble Dutch buildings and barns from pre-revolutionary America in the Hudson Valley.
Born in Cambridge, MA, Steven today works in Cambridge, greater New England, and the Hudson Valley. For 25 years he has possessed one of the oldest Cambridge builder’s licenses. Together with two other carpenters, Classical Details comprises over 75 years’ experience in construction work, specializing in older homes and buildings.
We know that any company derives its strength from customer satisfaction and the dedication of its employees. Our central core beyond years of hands-on experience is the pursuit of higher education to better serve you. For example, one member of Classical Details will soon receive his Certificate in Historic Preservation. As a result, beyond the all-important “how should it look,” we may be able to guide you towards tax benefits and other sources that could help you reaffirm your commitment to preserving your home.
In addition, we rely on our customers to give us feedback and participate in making their home a better place than when we began. We often foresee changes before we write a proposal, and minimize change orders whenever possible by anticipating problems prior to construction.
We utilize CAD drawings, models and samples of our work that we are eager to show to inform the consumer and to answer any questions. We are serious in the pursuit of making every step towards that visual finished package, whether you intend a one-year, five-year or lifetime plan.
